The weather in the morning was dark and cloudy, and when the archers walked down to admin they saw why – as death had arrived early and was waiting for them. Yep, quite literarily, as Hugh’s creature workshop had been busy preparing him for the shoot. Also, killer whale broke surface in the wood with minus points if you hit mini-polar bear or the penguin. As always at Westcott we’ve probably spent more time having fun with the targets than we should have done – yes, we do spend most of the year building shots for the outdoors or the indoors. (Speaking of which we've only a few places left for the January shoot - plug over so back to the shoot report).

The course was testing but definitely not stretched and our easy to walk terrain made for a fun walk in the woods with bows and good company. The shots proved deceptive with the standing bear, heard shot of 6 deer and hog family proving particularly challenging. We’d like to thank all of the archers, who are by now good friends of Westcott, for supporting us and also the social club bar as it was very well patronised after the shoot.

May we also take this opportunity to thank John and Hugh for laying such a good course, Cass and her merry helpers for admin and all of the club members who turned up to help.

Hope to see you all soon at the Indoor 3D shoot in January!!

Thanks to Stu Cane for the excellent report - where's the pictures???
